Changes to the Privacy Act (1998) came into effect as of 12 March 2014. The National Privacy Principles have now been replaced by 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). At Blue Star Direct, we’ve been working to ensure that we are compliant with the new APPs. Our clients can be completely confident that we handle their data in line with the new obligations.
At Blue Star Direct, we’re committed to maintaining a strong quality, risk management and control environment. We annually prepare and have audited (in accordance with the requirements of the Australian Auditing and Assurance Standards Board) a report which assesses our risk management and control environment including our privacy obligations. We hold ISO 9001 certification and we’re working towards PIC and IRAP standards.
Phil Ludowici, Blue Star Direct Chief Information Officer says, ‘We take our privacy obligations very seriously and these have recently been reviewed in light of the new Australian Privacy Principles. Our clients trust us with their customer data and it’s our job to ensure we meet the obligations outlined.’
